Waccabuc’s first fall market

The weather forecast looks good for this Saturday morning- sunny and in the 60s – a perfect fall day. WLC members will be setting up our “market” on tables behind the post office, 10 AM – noon. Drop by – come see what your neighbors are growing/making!

For example
fresh eggs
freshly baked bread
fudge
homemade pies/cookies
local wine
local maple syrup
local produce (that is, if Irene and Lee didn’t completely decimate it!)
vineyard vines (think rustic wreaths)
bee keeping demonstration

freshly brewed coffee will also be available

Additionally there will be Waccabuc note cards available, as well as our 30th anniversary WLC mugs (if you are a member and haven’t received your complimentary mug yet, this is the time to come pick it up!).

Come chat with your friends and neighbors. Go buy some stamps and support the post office. Walk the circuit around East Ridge Road and work up an appetite. Then – hit those tables and donate something for the cause – all proceeds will be benefiting the WLC Tree and Land Preservation committees.

And then after you see us, wend your way over to the Lewisboro Library Fair at Onatru Farm on Elmwood Road in South Salem – another great cause to support in our town!

The latest issue of WAG Magazine (its publisher and creative director is Waccabuc resident, Dee DelBello) has 2 excellent articles in it written by former Waccabuc resident, Dana Ramos. She has spotlighted, in 2 separate articles, yet other Waccabuc residents – Broadway producers Fran and Barry Weissler and author Philip Kunhardt.

LLT presents Beyond the Garden Gate- a tour of Waccabuc gardens, June 26, 2011

Enjoy touring 7 of the most spectacular gardens in Waccabuc and North Salem and relax with a picnic lunch at the Pine Croft Meadow, on Sunday June 26th.

Tickets, tour map and lunch can be picked up at Pine Croft Meadow on Mead Street, just past the post office, starting at 10:45am. Parking and restrooms will be available at Pine Croft Meadow. Tickets are $40 each (children under 12 are free); lunch is $10 each. The price of the ticket is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Your gift supports land preservation in Lewisboro.

Lewisboro Land Trust, the sponsor of this event, is a chapter of the Westchester Land Trust. Together, they have protected over 1,000 acres in the town of Lewisboro.

Waccabuc garden tour, July 11

Visit eight gorgeous gardens in Waccabuc on July 11! Garden tours are $40 per adult and include a picnic lunch. Registration, map and lunch box pick-up are at Pine Croft Meadow (Mead Street) starting at 10:45 AM.

From 3:14 – 4:00 there is a wine & cheese reception at the hall at Mead Memorial Chapel. A bluegrass concert at Mead Chapel starts at 4:00. Tickets for either the tour or the concert are $40; a combo ticket is available for $65. Children under 12 are free.

Proceeds will benefit the Lewisboro Land Trust. Tickets are available at 914-241-6346 x23 or email grace@westchesterlandtrust.org.
